2021 Resurrection Parish Festival
As some of you were tuning in to view Super Bowl LV (55) last weekend, a group of parish volunteers were already gathering to begin planning for Resurrection’s Parish Festival LV. That’s right, this year will be the 55th annual parish festival that will be held on Sunday August 15th, 2021. Please save the date!
Just as we faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic while planning last year’s festival, many of those challenges are still present as we begin planning for this year’s festival. While we pray and are hopeful that there will be a safe return to normal sooner rather than later, we cannot predict how quickly that date will come. On a positive note, the Building a Visible Presence Capital Campaign has been relaunched and construction of the new school will hopefully be well underway come August. Considering these factors once again required the festival advisory committee to be creative, flexible and adaptable. That being said, it has been decided that we will once again proceed with a mostly virtual festival for this year.
Please know that many gracious volunteers, including many new faces, are already hard at work planning a fun, entertaining event once again. This year’s festival will include some favorites including the return of the car/cash raffle and online silent auction. In addition, our dedicated kitchen and concession crew will be preparing to-go meals featuring everyone’s’ favorite Kalmes’ chicken that will be available for pick-up the day of the festival. We also hope to provide some live and pre-recorded entertainment for parishioners to once again enjoy the day of the festival. In addition to the day-of activities, we are planning to offer opportunities for parishioners to socially reconnect outdoors following Sunday morning masses the weekends leading up to the festival. Please stay tuned for details!
As with any large event, many hands make light work. We are currently recruiting a 2nd assistant co-chair couple to join Matt & Stephanie Arensdorff who have graciously volunteered their time. Please consider volunteering if you are able. You can contact any of the co-chairs or parish office if interested in helping in this role.
Finally, we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone that made last year’s festival such a success. We were all astounded and humbled by our parishioners’ generosity. It is that generosity that allows our parish to continue to grow and thrive, even during challenging times. We all thank you in advance for your continued support and prayers and look forward to sharing more exciting details about this year’s festival as they become finalized.
